which have complained about the letters from home
to the M.E. None have complained about the
reverse procedure, & so I think I will.

I was so glad to see from your p.c. that you do not look
upon your move to Cambridge as a permanent arrangement,
but only as an experiment, & that you may move on
to [Caernarvan?]. I had another letter from Vera
today, saying how much she was looking forward
to hearing from you again, & that you would go &
stay up there - & "what a darling you were" & how
she would like to have you near.

The [?] is an absolute bugger - I quite agree!
I'm afraid I cannot make any helpful remarks or
suggestions; I am so out of land, _ slow of
information. But I will send an A.G. to Gordon
laying out the position, which may help. But do not
worry, sweetheart - we must pay on what we earn. And
we are both spending the minimum. My last L30
was drawn on Jan 19th & I think I wrote & told yo9u
that it would last until May - I am now
quite sure that it will last until July. But the
[?] of I.T. are quite right you know. Even if I
were to become a Lt Col., most of the increase in
pay would be absorbed in tax. Starting from
our [?], until today, we have put
by L4-500, & Marie is safely born & growing
up. So our position is wonderfully improved, in
spite of the war - so please darling, do not
