worry - & do not be too stringy with yourself.

Your letter to the Ottawa Bank about Pessach was very
good, & it is quite evident that you can deal out a good
rocker too. They have reinvested the allowance now,
but in a very ungracious way. I promptly wrote &
thanked them rather acidly, & I asked them to say that
[Ressah's?] job was assured, for after the war. My letter
was dated Feb 5 (my birthday) & they replied on 18 Mar,
as follows "I am unable to give an answer to
the question contained in the penultimate paragraph
of your letter, & am referring the matter to my
London office." Makes you sick, doesn't it? The
man in London's reply to you that their Palestine
manager is now an office boy, seems to have
been without foundation. Anyway - I think the
correct answer would have been that he had
better watch his step, or else he will not even
be there after the war, when the Banks are
nationalised. The bloody shits - how I hate them.

Saturday morning - & I must polish this off - post it
in a few minutes. I am going off with Ben, at 12.0
o'clock, & we are spending the week end going
round some of the settlements in northern Palestine
& down by thes ea of Galilee - the main purpose
being to find recruits for the Cmy. I hope we
shall get some - but in any case, we should have
an interesting time & I shall see some more
