very much. It is necessary to get a permit to come over here, & there seem to be various ways & means of obtaining this, & so far I am not very well informed. Cole is coming over to see me tomorrow evening, & he will probably know something about it. Muriel's wife is the first to arrive - & he apparently first of all got the C.O. to sign something or other. And then his wife had to sign a form binding herself to stay here for the duration of her husband's stay in the country. There seems to be rather a large undertaking, but maybe it is only one method. If it is the only one, what do you say? I rather feel now that our stay over here is going to be a long one - possibly for the duration & this place is at least as safe as England. And if something does happen, Cole would be a really excellent man to look after you.

I will probably have better information to write to you on Tuesday - & in the meantime you must be having a look into ways & means yourself. Whatever happens, we must be together

3. again soon darling. It is just awful being separated from you. And I hope you don't like it either.

Muriel's wife arrived with a spaniel dog like Crinkle. She is tall & streamlined like Muriel himself - she dresses fairly smartly & they walk about the place with the dog on a lead all the time & Muriel with a big walking stick, & looking just too elegant for words. I am sure they look upon themselves as a sort of "Thin Man Again" act.

I had another game of golf yesterday - we played a five ball, & it was very good fun except for the fact that I played extremely badly. I hope to play again today.

After we went to see Robert Taylor & Dorothy Lamar in "Lady of the Tropics" - which was not too good. We then went to one of the ever more hospitable locals, where we absorbed Guinness until 1-30. Quite a pleasant evening really. These people are really incredibly hospitable & generous.

I am dying to have your most recent letter & hope that it will arrive tomorrow. You can imagine I want to know whether you have started a baby or not! Sweet, brave, lovely darling, I do hope you have - & if not that you will not feel sad - & that we can be trying again soon.

I want you to have photograph taken please. Will you do this & have a really good one done for me? The only one I have was taken before I knew you & was not for me at all, though I do like it.

I will try & write tomorrow darling -but will do on Tuesday whatever happens.

All my love & kisses. sweetheart.

Yours for ever & always -

Harry.
