week end was in front of us + we could read or
talk, or play some records from our musical library,
+ we might make love too. In any case, I would
come + sit on the arm of your chair or on the
edge of it, or else you would sit on my knee +
I would hold you very close + kiss you + reassure
myself that I was really there with you, + not far
away in the M.E. any longer.
You were sweet, my darling, telling me in your letter
that you loved me + that it never occured to you
to do anything else or to love anyone else- + that
monogamy is natural for you because you do love
your Harry. I promise you , my sweetheart, that you
are right- + that you have built your house on rock +
I shall never change. And I promise you + assure
you, solemnly + faithfully that this will always be
so, + you will never regret it in the future or
have to think that you have spent two miserable
+ lonely years, when I was not worth it.
I love you so much, my darling , + I shall never
change except to love you more. It may be old
fashioned + out of date, + perhaps it has never been
fashionable for a man- but I am quite certain
that it is impossible to have real time +
wonderful love like ours, + not be entirely
