sure that if I were to have ever a mild affair with
some girl, I could not give my entire attention to
you + unless I do do that, I cannot love you as
I do. And my entire attention is on you- If I have an affair
with someone- either it takes some if my love away from
you- or else I am just behaving like an animal. I
absolutely + entirely disagree with men- + even women too- who
say that you cannot expect a man to be faithful + it does
not mean anything anyway. And practically always those men
would be furious + unforgiving if their wives were to behave
in the same way- + such wives as those that [?] view
would feel very guilty if they were to.
maybe that other people do has nothing in it to concern us
but I still cannot help feeling rather revolted at the way
in which most men behave.
I think perhaps + I like to think so - you + I are a
special + exceptional case. We love each other very deeply
+ sincerly - + also very passionately. And we do very intimate
things together- + to each other- things which I look upon
as being entirely personal between you + me. And knowing
my own feeling- I can well imagine how you would feel
+ how I would want you to feel if you had to
envisage me making love to someone else. There may
be quite a lot of jealousy + possessiveness about my love for
you- + I think you feel the same too. But it is by no
means only a cheap feeling + I do practice what I
