Friend William
I have written you in
reply to your first letter and directed to
Annapolis but will answer yours received this
night and direct to E Montpelier so you will
be sure and get one of them.
I presume you got the other one before this
if not please let me know and I will wri[te]
you what little news I wrote in that over ag[ain].
I cannot write much tonight.
We have had quite a Snow Storm and after [that?]
a rain Storm and now it has cleared off
Colder Than [underline]"blazes"[/underline]. Capt Galt has not come
back yet and I hardly think he will
We have a new Gen. in Command of our Division
dont know his name yet. I wrote you in my other
letter that I have sent your things all home, but
your [warrant?] &c which I enclose to you.
please write me if you have received my letters
