Catharine is still poorly - he does quite a business this fall in his old way - Though George Finkham from Marshfield sometimes gets to the east village in the morning before him - I have told thee, I think that George is married - his wife looks after the store while he peddles beef a part of the time -

Mary has told thee that poor uncle T. has got through - Thomas went to Ferrisburgh to notify friends - Corry & Jane helped [underline]them[/underline] I mean aunt P. & G. & had every thing in very good shape-

Have I ever told thee we have got a beauty of a black puppy - full of mischief & fun? -

Do please inform us if thee does not want something that we can send thee - I did not expect we should hear from thee as often after thee left the hospital - but I now feel as if we want a letter very much - & I am my dear boy thy ever loving
