East Craftsbury St. July 26th 1870.
My Beloved Anna;
Your long long looked
for letter, written finally when what was
to have been a memorable day was
joyfully received in due time and
was like a great rock in a weary
land. Of the many heartaches and
doubts and fears your long long
silence caused I will not speak -
am glad that I have one more
token that I am thought of semioccasionally
by your most worthy self. Where are
you my dear? I imagine at sis Mary's.
How are they ask, and how are you?
Moving in thin air as it were, I
suppose with a great happiness filling
your soul to the brim. I am glad
and thankful to be considered worthy
your confidence and congratulate you
