Trustees' Special Meeting _ _ continued _

Salary of Treasurer _

Voted that the Salary of the Treasurer for the present year be fixed at two thousand dollars ($2000.)

Salary of Secretary _

Voted that the salary of the Secretary for the present year be fixed at fifteen hundred dollars ($1500).

Time for change Treasr & Sec.y _

Voted that the be fixed as the time for the transfer of the offices of Treasurer and Secretary from the present officer to the Treasurer and Secretary elect, with all books of record, and account, and money and evidences of property of the Corporation.

Building of Fence at Reception House suspended.

On motion of N. J. Bradlee,

Voted that the Superintendent be notified at once to suspend all work on the fence on the line between the Reception House and land of Alexander McDonald. _

Payments on Reception House ratified _

On motion by Mr Turner,

Voted that the payments which have been made by the Treasurer under the sanction of the Committee chosen last year to build a Reception House be ratified. _

Comee on Reception House renewed _

also _

Voted that Messrs Austin & Norcross appointed last year on said Committee be reappointed. _

Comee on Recepn House enlarged _

On several motions it was also

Voted that Messrs N. J. Bradlee, J. T. Bradlee & Lovejoy be added to the Reception House Building Committee.

Lease of part of Recepn House for Refreshmt Room authorized _

On motion by Mr N. J. Bradlee,

Voted that the Reception House Committee be authorized to lease a portion of the new building for a refreshment room, and for no other purpose, for one year, and that the care of the building may be made a part of the consideration of said lease. _

Hour for Special Meetings _

On motion of Mr Turner,

Voted that the hour for all special meetings, as well as regular meetings, be half past three o'clock P. m. ~

Flagstone crossing at Gate _

On motion of Dr Brewer,

Voted that the Committee on the Reception building consider the expediency of providing a broad flag-stone crossing between the gate and said building, and report to this Board. _

Repairs on Supts House _

On motion by Mr J. T. Bradlee,

Voted that the Committee having in charge the transfer of office of Superintendent have full power to make such repairs upon the house occupied

On motion by Mr Turner,

Voted to proceed to choose a President, pro tempore, to serve during the contemplated absence of the President. _

Five ballots were cast _ all for Mr. E. S. Rand _

and he was declared chosen President pro tem. _

The regular meeting of the Trustees was held on Tuesday, . at half past three o'clock P.m. _

There were present the Prest pro tempore, Mr Rand, and Messrs J. T. Bradlee, N. J. Bradlee, Brewer, Livermore, Lovejoy, Sleeper and Turner. _

The record of the last meeting was read and approved. _

Treasurer's Quarterly Statement.

Mr Turner, for the Finance Committee reported that the last quarterly statement of the Treasurer had been examined and approved. _

Report of the Committee on Grounds on Surveying in Cemetery. _

Mr Rand for the Committee on Grounds to which was referred the subject of surveying in the Cemetery submitted a written report _ recommending that the Superintendent be authorized to contrct with Messrs Shedd and Sawyer for the work specified in Nos. 1.2.3 of their letter of _ the expenses not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.)

The work described in said letter being _

1. "Write on your section plans all dimensions, and all necessary diagonal and tie lines of lots which may have been omitted."

2. Plot the survey base lines and stations with their reference points on to one of the lithographed plans of the Cemetery, stating all angles and distances in figures.

3. Make a set of partial section plans showing only the relative positions of the lots to the base lines and stations of our survey." _

Voted to accept the report and adopt its recommendations.

Supt's request for copy of Sectional plans _ and to employ surveyor to locate stone monts _ at stations. _

Mr Rand further presented the several requests of the Supt. "for authority to have a copy of the book of sectional plans, now in the Secretary's office, made for the use of the Supt. and to be kept at the Cemetery." _

"and for authoritiy to employ a surveyor for the purpose of locating stone monuments or stone pegs at the 'stations,' so called, or principal points of reference used by the surveyors in making their maps and in creating new lots" _ the Supt suggesting that the work in each case would not exceed $300. _

Supt authorized to make copy of sectional plans, and to set stone monuments at stations

Upon which it was

Voted that the request of the Supt relating to copy of sectional plans and setting of stone monuments be granted, and that the Superintendent be authorized to have the work done subject to the approval of the Committee on Grounds _ and that the cost in each case shall not exceed three hundred dollars. ($300.)

abatement on bill of Geo C. Richardson reported _

Mr Rand for the Committee on Grounds further reported that the Committee had abated ($70.37) seventy and 27/100 Dollars from the bill of Mr Geo. C. Richardson proprietor of lot numbered 1525, he having expended that sum for improvements outside of his lot, & the report was accepted. _

Purchase of addl land W. Side of Cem.y _

On the question of reporting upon the memorial of sundry proprietors for the purchase by the Corporation of land west of the Cemetery, Mr Rand asked for the Committee on Grounds further time, which was granted. _

Communication of Messrs Austin - Norcross on subject of Reception House _

A communication from Messrs Austin and Norcross of the Reception House Committee of last year relative to the building of said house was read and ordered to be placed on file. _

Applications from sundry persons for hiring a privilege in the Reception building were read, _
