Description

Dr. William Oxnard Moseley Jr. (1848 - 1879). A graduate of Harvard Medical, his name is perpetuated in the Moseley Professorship of Surgery, Harvard Medical School, and in the Moseley Memorial Building (1916), Massachusetts General Hospital.

He was also a mountaineering enthusiast who regularly made trips to Europe. Dr. Moseley holds the grim distinction of being the first American to perish on the Matterhorn, Switzerland.
