A light anchor was used with the bower anchor in narrow waterways.The bower anchor(s) was the
main anchor used by a vessel.

A hogshead is a large cask with a capacity = 63 gallons. The name is said to derive from the 1500s
due to the fact the cask resembled a hog's head.
