The first of this Day Strong gales at from East to S.E.
latter Part moderate and flattering winds at from S. to S.S.W.
Clear Weather all Day, a Small Schooner that lay moored near
us has gone out, with Some difficulty got on board 2 Small Kasks of
Warter, one Barrel of Beef.--- Imployed as follows Straping Blocks
Prepareing temporary Bullworks, Puting Leathers and mats on the
Standing Riggin,--- [Taring?], Bending Sails &c
[large bold flowery] Bent the M,,,,T,,,,S,,,,Sail
Well may Christian Sound be Denominated a Poor Place
for it affords Nothing neither [large bold flowery] W,A,R,T,E,R,
Nor
[large bold flowery] W,I,N,E,
Thus ends the Day

Thursday Febuary 28th

All the Day lite Winds and Shifty from S.W. to S.E.
attended with Some few Squalls of rane and Snow, Imployed at
a little of a mostly [-] Thing. In the Afternoon the Boys onShore
took on board the [large, bold] n,a,n,c,y
[large, bold, flowery] 5 Dozen of Pine OARS
and Stowed them to the advantacge
Came to anchor near us
Arrived, a Ship,
a Galliot
a Schooner and
a Sloop,
Very fine and beautifull Weather as can be expected for this
Latitude and Season,--- Almost as Mild as MidSummer, the [drawing of moon] Shines
Bright, and not a Single Cloud floating in the air, thus ends
the Day and Month, One of our Crew got overboard this evening
but did not go Deep enough to find his Nife,--- Almost one
Year from New York, and Two from Home,
