I had a letter from Baker stating that we would not have a certain
animal to worry with and that I would be placed in charge when he is
not here, retaining my workas night editor, at an increase in salary.
Don't that sound good dear?

Ex, darling, you are not mad at me for not being able to be with
you during the afternoon for the last threedays-- seems much longer than
three-- are you? I am sure you know I loveyou all the time and that
I want to be with you even better than you want to be with me.

Darling I have got to get busy on the Sunday sheet-- am trying to
get out a good one-- especially for the democrats.. Made some
arrangements today for some of the right sort of editorials for you
about Monday in this paper and in the Labor Advocate.

My old frame is down here but you have my heart and soul with you
on Hollywood street-- right up close-- dear.

Your Eller who is endeavoring
to merit your love.
