My dearest Thomas,

This is another liberty day but I am not
going anywhere. I am spending it writing this
letter to you. Don't know what to write about
though. There is so little to tell even if
you could write about everything. Wish I did
love to write so I could do a lot of it.

One of the boys has a radio now and I
sure do enjoy it. It sometimes makes me very
unhappy. Last night I was in bed (the sack)
just lying there listening at the radio when they
started playing" When I'm a long way from Home"
well it made me mighty blue for a while. Some
of the songs just put you two thinking and there's
not a thing you can do about it. I love the
music just the same. In other words I wouldn't
be happy here if I couldn't be blue part of the
time for you, I like to blue that way for I
