April 13th
First part light airs and calms.
Ship heading to south. Saw two sails.
Midle [MIDDLE] part took the wind from the West.
Latter part stearing S. East. Lat [LATITUDE] 30 15 177 10

Tuesd [TUESDAY]
April 14th
First part strong breezes from north.
Ship stearing to the east. At 4 PM put
a new boat on the waste [WAIST] courses then
spoke bark Rose Pool. Spoke bark
George Washing. Stoing [STOWING] down a
large whale. Midle [MIDDLE] part under
double reafs [REEFS]. Mid [MIDDLE] part the same.
Latter part tacked ship to S. West.
Saw the two barks in Lat [LATITUDE] 30 16 177 45

Wedns [WEDNESDAY]
April 15th
First part brisk breezes from south
Stearing W. S. West. At 4 P.M reafed [REEFED]
topsails. Wore ship to E.S. East by
the wind. Midle [MIDDLE] part and latter stear [STEERED]
the same. So ends in Lat [LATITUDE] 30 27 178 05

Thurs [THURSDAY]
April 16th
First part brisk breezes from the same.
Ship stearing the same. Midle [MIDDLE] part
and latter moderated breezes. Ship
stearing S. East by the wind. Saw
a sail. So ends in Lat [LATITUDE] 31 04 179 00

Wedns [WEDNESDAY]
April 17
First moderat [MODERATE] breezes. Ship stearing
the same. Saw two finbacks. Midle [MIDDLE]
part and latter calm weather.
So ends mending fly sails.
