June 22d 1857
First part comences [COMMENCES] with brisk
breezes from the East a cloudy weather.
Ship stearing S.S. East by the wind. Topsails
reafed [REEFED]. At 5 P.M wore ship to north.
Midle [MIDDLE] part wore ship to S. East. Latter
part the same. Bloing [BLOWING] heavy. Took in
fore and mizen [MIZZEN] topsail. Lat [LATITUDE] 26 36 175 35

Tuesd [TUESDAY]
June 23rd
First part wind bloing [BLOWING] a gale fronm
the north. Ship laying under spencers
heading to the East. Midle [MIDDLE] part and
latter bloing [BLOWING] very heavy with rain.
At noon took the wind from the
west. Ship stearing N.N. East with
a heavy beat[?] sea in Lat [LATITUDE] 27 10 174 14

Wedns [WEDNESDAY]
June 24th
First part light winds from the west
with much sea from the N. East.
Ship stearing N.n. East under reaf [REEFED]
topsails. Midle [MIDDLE] part and latter stear [STEERING]
N by East. All sail set. 26 00 173 30

Thurs [THURSDAY]
June 25th
First part wind from the S. West.
Ship stearing to the North. All sail
set. Emploid [EMPLOYED] mending the old waist
boat. Midle [MIDDLE] part and latter stearing
the same. All set set. Lat [LATITUDE] 24 30 172 58

June 26th
First part all sail set. Stearing the same.
