First part light winds from East with
heavy rains. Midle [MIDDLE] part ship stear [STEERING]
to N. East. Midle [MIDDLE] part and latter

July 16th
First part moderate breezes from East.
Ship stearing N.N. East by the wind.
All sail. Emploid [EMPLOYED] drying yams. Midle [MIDDLE]
part stearing the same. Latter part
fine weathe [WEATHER] and brisk breezes. Emp [EMPLOYED]

July 17th
First part brisk breezes from S. East
with lights squals [SQUALLS] of rain. Ship stear [STEERING]
N. East all sail. Midle [MIDDLE] part stearing
the same. Latter part at daylight saw
the island of Otatuelah [???] [SAMOA?] baring [BEARING]
N.N. West dist [DISTANCE] 30 miles 15 49 171 52
Sund [SUNDAY]
July 18th
First part brisk trade breezes from
S. East. At 2 P.M lored [LOWERED] two boats
and went in trading at the island of
Olatuelah.[?] At 6 P.M returned
with two boat loads of yams and
a few limes then steared to N.N. West.
Midle [MIDDLE] part laying with head yards
aback. Latter part saw the island
of Wapolo [NIUATOPUTAPU?] [???] so ends. 14 34 170 38
Mond [MONDAY]
July 19th
First part brisk trade breeze.
At noon lored [LOWERED] one boat. The
Captain and his family went
ashore at Wapolo[?]. At sunset
returned to ship. Stearing off after [???] East.
