Sir,
The claims of L.G. Hughes, $1376.61,
James R. Jones $230.99 & Lewis Leach $1091.07
for supplies furnished to the Indian Dept
in Califa, received from your office 11 & 15th
inst respectively, are herewith respectfully
returned.

Such portions of these claims, as are
directed to be paid to the claimants, and
charged to M. B. Lewis late Sub Agent,
who has heretofore received credit for
their amount, on the settlement of his
a/cs, cannot now be charged to Mr Lewis,
the claimants must look to him, their
receipts are perfect, and the UStates
have paid the amount by giving
