He was eloquent - I will just mention one
of his sublime figures, "The wrath of God,
like a cloud, is hanging over a guilty world ready
to burst with all its sleeping thunders" - I
long to get to N. Haven - The revival is nearly
subsided - although there is a great missionary
spirit which is the essence of a revival spirit,
I should like to know if you intend
to labour in a 'foreign field' I feel that
my own heart wants a great deal more piety
before I am fixed for a missionary, I hope may
have an interest in your prayers - I hope you
will continue on as you have begun to encourage
young men to study for the ministry
I think perfect love will unite Baptist & Congregationalist.
for love is there, where truth resides
they are twin sisters - "Charity love rejoiceth in the
truth" [?] I hope the day is not far distant
when we shall see all the B_ & C_ at home uniting
their efforts for the 'conversion of the world', but uniting
they might send out a greater number of
missionaries than they otherwise can - I am yet
reading Homer. Mr. Johnson's health permits him to
attend to his duties. I want you to write me
