the christians, truly tis "big with immortality."
If there was not a home byond the tomb -
a rest for gods people, how dreary all
would be here, but with the assurance
of heaven we suffer all the toils and
trials God places upon us, and bear them
patiently, "knowing that when this house of our
earthly tabernacle is dissolved, we have a
house, a building not made with hands
eternal in the heavens." There seems to be
no very particular interest here at present,
more than that our meetings are well attended
Sinners can find nothing to live upon but the
failings of christians, upon which they will
surely starve. Strange that men will
tell how christians act, and ought to act,
and not act themselves. They do not consider
that the christian is not trusting in
his "good works" but in Christ, they do
not consider that without christ they can
do nothing. Men do not keep the law
therefore their only hope is in christ. What
awful guilt rests upon that soul who knows
his duty and will not do it. O that men
were wise and would consider their latter end.
