A Meeting of the Council of the Corparation of the City of
Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Bermingham, Carson, Clements, Drennan,
Dunn, Eilbeck, Harty, Hiscock, Hobart,
Little, McIntyre, McKay, O'Brien, Redden,
Robinson, Thompson, J. Wilson, W. Wilson.

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

A Circular from Alexander L. Abbott Esquire City Clerk
London was read submitting Resolutions adopted by the
London Council Re Exemptions from taxation - Referred
to the Select Committee On Municipal Reform

A Communication from Mrs. L. Gordon was read respecting
Nuisance ground - Referred to the Committee on Streets

A Circular from the Publishers of Man was read
asking the Council to subscribe for Copies - Referred to the
Board of Health

A Communication from the Kingston Electric Co. was
read Re Lights Clock Tower &c - Referred to the Committee
on Fire Water and Gas

A Communication from Samuel H. Fee M.D. Medical
Health Officer was read asking for a Commensurate Salary
with the duties of his office - Referred to the Finance Committee

A Communication from James A. Henderson Esquire
Chairman of Committee Gas Works in reference to lighting
the City with Gas &c Referred to the Committee on Fire Water
and Gas

A Communication from James Wilson Esquire
Manager Water Works Company was read stating the
Company will charge $95 per hydrant per annum for
water supply to each and every Hydrant new or hereafter to be erected &c

On Motion of Ald. Bermingham seconded by Ald. Carson
Ordered, That the Communication of the Water
Works Company be referred to the Special Committee
on Water Works

A Communication from Messrs Martin Strachan & Son
was read asking the Council to rescind that part of the
resolution relating to the Bridge Company allowing Steam
Fire Engines Crossing - Referred to the Committee on
Fire Water and Gas

Petitions from Henry Browley, Felix Lennon and
John P. Treneer respecting Taxes were submitted and
referred to the Court of Revision.

Ald. Drennan brought up the petition of John G. Meagher
asking for a refund of a certain amount of the Trainsent [Transient]
Traders License paid by him - Referred to the Committee
On Licenses
