My dearest wee Mother

The first day of Susie's Bazaar earned £800, which is
very good. They will easily get the £1000 they set before [?].
I went about 5 & it was a very pretty sight. I never saw
such a collection of beautiful young women. Alice did very
well in presenting the bouquet but forgot to curtsey; she was hugged &
kissed by old Princess Christian. John Splendid toddled about
sneering at the whole concern. Susie was dog-tired last night.
Marnie has brought back a German friend with her who can't speak
