Professors without giving timely notice to make provision
for carrying on the work that had been in their hands.
To guard against this, as far as possible, in the future,
a special committee was appointed to consider the terms
of engagement, and other conditions of employment, and
report to the Board.

The resolutions of the Assembly Commission adopted the
11th. of February, 1904, were at this meeting submitted by
the Principal, and their significance fully explained.
Action to change the University Charter having been
stayed, for the time, and a new endowment campaign
being inaugurated in the three central Synods, careful
attention must be given to every phrase of the movement,
for success or failure meant much for Queen's.

The Trustees having heard the resolutions of the Commission,
expressed their cordial gratification at the action of the
Assembly, agreed to maintain the connection between
the Presbyterian Church and the University, and
welcomed the appointment of the large and representative
Committee to co-operate with them in securing an
adequate increase in the revenues of the University.
Further, the Trustees remitted to the Local Board the care
of devising methods for carrying out the movement
recommended by the Assembly, and to this end, advised
the Local Board to invite co-operation of the Council,
and the Assembly Committee.
