Queen's College, Kingston
24th February 1852.

The Senatus met on the Call of the Principal
and was constituted by Prayer. Present Revd.
Dr. Machar, Revd. Professors Urquhart, Williamson
and Smith.

The Senatus having resumed consideration of the
charges brought against certain Students concerned
in the late assault on Professor
Smith's house came to the following deliverance:
viz.

The Senatus Academicus having found John
Benson and Lowther McPherson guilty, on their
confession, of a gross assault upon the
House of Professor Smith, aggravated in the case
of both, by a previous denial of guilt in the
matter, and also in the case of John Benson,
by his having been concerned in a former act
