The Extra-Mural course, in which Queen's was the first to
break ground in the Province, if not in the Dominion,
had now grown to such proportions that competent
additional help was required to attend to correspondence
and exercises.

The site for the Biological building was selected behind
the Gymnasium, and only a few steps from the old
medical building. On the recommendation of the
Medical Committee the following appointments were
made to the staff: Dr. Third, Professor of Medicine,
Dr. Campbell, Assistant Professor of Medicine, and
Professor of Therapeutics, Dr. Ross, Professor of Materia
Medica an Pharmacology, Dr. Etherington, Associate
Professor of Anatomy.

The Finance and Estates Committee was looking after the
proposed school of Pedagogy -- later to be called the Faculty
of Education in the University, and the omens were
encouraging.

At the adjourned meeting, May 4, 1906, the Finance and
Estates Committee reported the revenue for the year as
$62,611.10, being $94.73 more than the expenditure.
Once, Principal Grant expressed great satisfaction
over a surplus of [underline]seventy-six cents[/underline]. Since then, these
have been, as on the occasion, larger sums on the
right side of the books, and sometimes on the other side.
