exacting demands and plans of College management and
life the Principal announced a valuable collection of
ethnological and scientific specimens for the museum
from Dr. J.P. Thomson, of Brisbane, Australia.

A strange land, Australia, cut off from the rest of the
world -- just, who knows when? -- with its curious trees and
animals, and, in some ways equally curious human beings.
So this contribution to the Museum had a unique interest
and value; to Queen's all the more interesting because
it was Dr. Thomson's own private collection. And he was
very cordially thanked for this token of his regard.

The Board continued to keep in touch with the Ontario
Government, with the reminder, as needs arose, that
further assistance would be acceptable.
