At this meeting the Board took into consideration
the first, second and fifth resolutions of the 16th Oct.r
when in view of the objections urged against them it
was resolved, that they be reconsidered at a full
meeting to be called for on 15th July, and that in
order to complete the course of instruction in the
curriculum, it was necessary in the opinion of the
Board that a Professor of Logic and Mental and
Moral Philosophy be appointed to enter upon the
discharge of his duties at the commencement of next
Session.

The Synod at its meeting on 7th July, on
Motion of the Revd. Dr. Cook, agreed to the following
deliverance, "The Synod disapprove of the deliver-
ance at Montreal on the 3rd February last, in
respect of the Grant of £ 500 to Queen's College from
the Clergy Reserves Commissioners as tending to
throw unnecessary obstacles in the way of a
highly desirable object; and the Synod
do cordially approve of the said grant as
