Application for the appointment of a Stipendary Magistrate

Police Office Dalby
12th January 1860

Sir

We deem it an imperative
duty thus early to bring under
your notice for the information
of his Excellency the Governor
the following circumstances having
reference to the judicial destitution
under which this District suffers
in consequence of the paucity
of Magistrates in the District,
and the great distance they
reside from the Police Office
namely 20, 25 and 35 miles
respectively.
