If not, I am at a loss how to act, for your circular only this day to hand specifies tomorrow the 15th (Sunday) as the last day for such appointment to be made, and in a addition to the impracticability in this extensive district of recalling the collectors now out on their respective duties I shall not be able until Saturday next the 21: inst to put myself in communication with the Magistrates of the district.
Your assurance, therefore, that the course adopted so far by the Bench with the proposed hereafter rectification of the list and revision is correct will much oblige me.

This must be done by the Collectors before handing in their lists. - Neither the Court of Petty Session nor the magistrates have any authority to expunge, except after objections have been regularly lodged, and proven valid [be?] [in?] the regular [manner?]. any names which may appear in the lists ['the final' words stuck out replaced with 'handed in'] handed in by the Collectors. The Surveyor General to the Honble the Colonial Secretary, submitting that the annual Lease of sundry lands on the Cabulture River, in the Settled Districts, be offered for sale by Auction.

60/46 Sir,
I have the honor to submit for the approval of His Excellency the Governor that the annual leases of two blocks of pastoral land situated on the Cabulture River be offered for Sale by Public Auction, according to the existing Regulations.
The position of these lands is shown on the accompanying sketch, each block containing about thirty square miles.
Numerous applications for the lease of this land have been made

at this office and prior to the separation of Queensland, the arrangements for the sale of the leases were nearly completed.
It does not appear that any objection exists to these leases being offered for Public competition.
The usual form of notice in the Government Gazette is herewith enclosed.
