Mr Tilton Esq.
Deputy Miniter of Fisheries Ottawa

Sir

In my earlier letter
of this date transmitting certain
accounts relating to the collecting
of trout ova; I omitted to enclude
therewith a schedule or diary of
proceedings kept by Mr. Charles
Wilmot during the times employed
in procuring Salmon Trout at
Wiarton in Calpoys Bay. I now
send it herewith for the information
of your Department, and in explanation
of the cause of the greatly reduced
quantity of eggs obtained the season
of 1886, as compared ith the satis-
factory supplies collected at Wiarton
in the fall of 1885.

It will be noticed that
some 2,725,000 Eggs, were collected
at Wiarton last fall, as against some
11,300,000 during the season of 1885.
This great discrepancy is the number
for ova was occasioned by the [non?]
performance of certain arrangements
entered into by Mr. Gauthier [?]
