Newcastle Feby [February] 11/87
Mr Tilton Esq
Deputy Minister of Fisheries
Ottawa

Sir
In reply to your telegram of
this date regarding the number of Spec
Trout Ova -- upon examination of the
numbers on hand at this Newcastle
Hatchery, there are about 35,000

In addition to these, there are }
at present from Mr Mowat's }
letter some forty thousand }
which are now in the proper } 40,000
shape for shipment and which }
will be [ordered?] here, at once}
then making a total of } 75,000

This number I fear will not
satisfy the demands that may,
and no doubt will be, made for
Spec trout fry the coming Spring.

Should your Department so
desire I will Endorse to provide
a few thousand from some of
[American?] Hatcheries

I am Sir [Your?]
Sam Wilmot
[Supt F.C?]

I tried with a curly bracket at the end of each line: it looked better in "transcribe" mode!
