As before stated the [demand?]
on the part of the several States Fishery
Commissions is [becoming so great?]
to supply their Hatcheries (several new

with Eggs that, it becomes [in…ting?]
necessary for me to see that, we
are not left behind in the work
of getting full supplies for these
uses of our Dominion Fish breeding
Institutions.

I think in conclusion
that, Mr Parker should be
authorised to proceed with the
work at once regarding the Pickerel
supply; and that he should
take the Earliest steps possible to
also secure full supplies of White-
fish Eggs for next autumn.

of artificial fish culture, throughout
the various States of the American Union
is causing a good deal of Effort,
and rivalry between the State
Commissions, to get supplies for
Eggs to fill their hatcheries, and
hence it is the duty of your Dept
to see that, fishing grounds which
have been sought out, and utilised
by your officers, should not now
be lost to them, and the benefits
pass into the hands of the
American Fish Culturists.

In this view of the subject
I have to recommend that steps
should be taken to secure some
convenient, and productive,
fishery by purchase outright,
or by leasing for a length and
term of years.

This matter of securing
Eligible grounds for obtaining fish
Eggs does not apply to the Pickerel
Species alone; but is of vastly
greater importance in connection
with the breeding of the higher order
of commercial fish, like the White-fish,
and I have to suggest here most
strongly that, Mr Parker be […]
