3/4/45 Philipinos alongside again today with bananas. Picture party went across to H.M.S. "Acorn" to see "Northern Pursuit".

4/4/45 Dropped two hand grenades into the water and got about 100 nice fish. Philipinos came alongside to buy cigarettes and sell silk skirts and hand bags and they certainly did a good business. Picture party went across to Yank D.E. Had air raid alert about 0830 and closed up to AA action stations, searchlights were active over airstrip but nothing happened.

5/4/45 Pretty warm today no sign of rain for once, Two picture parties, one to E.D one one to H.M.S. "Unicorn". Escort carrier put to sea during forenoon with destroyers ad H.M.S "Indomitable" came in in company with cruisers and destroyer

6/4/45 R.N. Destroyers entered harbour. one proceeded alongside H.M.S. "Tyne" little

did we know what she held in store for us. Later on in the day received signal that we were to be funeral ship for three stokers who were killed on board when ship was dive bombed. 1330. Weighed and proceeded alongside HMS "Ulster" to collect dead and had to wait while divers got them out of boiler room, they could only find two so procedeed to sea, at 1520 to carry out burial service. Part of 22nd M.S.F. arrived today. Two picture parties tonight again one to Yank D.E. and one to "Unicorn".

7/4/45 Weighed and proceeded to sea with "Whyalla" and "Woomera". The latter altered course to Manilla and "Whyalla" and us continued to Seadler Harbour.

8/4/45 Good night last night weather was very good. Passed H.M.S "Lachlan" at midday today. Speed about 11 knots doing as sweep. E.T.A. A.M. Friday 13/4/45.

9/4/45 Good weather still so the trip is not so bad. Six liberators passed us on their way South

10/4/45 Rained last night but has cleared away again. Excercised, all close range armament during forenoon. Altered course to investigate what turned out to be a bouy. Otherwise nothing startling.

11/4/45 Still at sea.

12/4/45 Becoming a bit rough but should arrive A.M. tomorrow.

13/4/45 Arrived at Manus about 11 o'clock this morning almost all the shipping has gone. Proceeded alongside Liberty ship for water and then alongside tanker for oil. Stayed alongside tanker all night and went to pictures on board.

14/4/45 Proceeded to anchorage and commenced 7 day boiler clean. Picture party to ["Declavain"?]

15/5/45 Recreation party to Yank rec centre. Played "Whyalla" water polo over ships side. Picture party to Liberty Ship.

16/5/45 Rec party ashore again. Water polo over ships side. Picture party to "Whyalla".

17/5/45 H.M.A.S. "Dubbo" entered harbour during forenoon. No rec party today but a picture party to "Whyalla".

18/5/45 Painted ships side during forenoon. Were lucky enough to win the loan of a picture machine from Yanks. "Whyalla" proceeded to sea about 1400 with tug to go to Leyte to pick up H.M.S. Ulster. Couldn't get picture machine going so had party across to Yank transport. 19/5/45 as for 18/5/45

20/5/45 Rec. party to "Pityilu". "Toowoomba" entered harbour during afternoon, so invited picture party across to see "Gaslight" which was a very good show

21/5/45 Completed boiler cleaning and flashed up Rec party to Yank Rec centre. Played "Toowoomba" water polo over the ships side. Show on board tonight "Double Ademnity" and shorts.

22/5/45 R.N. Shore based personel challenged us to a game of soccer and they beat us. Picture for tonight "Up in Mabel's Room". Sunday today so had divisions.
