John Cost as advance before the death Lauley has the paper

Deposition of witness sworn and examined the 22nd day of June in the year 1854 at the residence of Land Meredith under and by virtue of a commission issued out of the Parbate Court of the State of Alabama for Shelby County in a certain cause therein depending between John Cost as guardian on the final settlement of his guardianship for Nancy Cost - Sarah E Cost and [blank space] Cost.

David Meredith a witness being duly sworn and examined on the part of John Cost doth depose and say as follows To the 1st Intry he saith that he is.

To the 2nd Intry he saith that he was guardian for Nancy C - Henry and Sarah E Cost

To the 3rd Intry he saith that John Cost - succeeded him in said guardianship - that he paid over to him the sum of Twenty five Hundred and Twty Eight and sixty nine one Hundredths dollars' - for said wards' - that for one - there was Eight Hundred and Twty two - and twenty four Hundredths Dollars' for another Eight Hundred and Fifty two and Ninty five Hundredths Dollars and for the other Eight Hundred and Fifty three and Fifty Hundredths Dollas - that he does not recallect for which one of the wards - each of the above sums were for - that he settled his guardianship about the 21st of May 1849

To the 4th Intry he saith that he has no recollection of having ever paid Berthena Ozley anything for board - that he does not remember of any claims for board in favor of said Ozley that he dont does not know who paid such

claims - that he has no receipts for any such claims - which he thinks he would have had if he had paid them.

To the 5th Inty he saith that he does not know that he ever paid any thing for him as guardian

To the 6th Inty he saith that he knows of nothing that will benefit him

To the 7th Inty he saith that - he has no knowledge of any [charge?] for bound in faver if Barthenia Osby - or of any report made by him of such changes - that he knows nothing of any such note being paid by him to John Cost - That he does not remember of any such agreement or payment.

To the 1stx Inty he saith that as far as [?bet] it Is conceived - he ran and say that he knows nothing of its being correct or incorrect - except that whatever report he made it was his intention to report correctly that he knows that he neither paid out or obtained any amount for the bound cloathing & of said words that no claims for such were presented to him.

To the 2nd X Inty he saith that he has before said that he has no recollection of paying to John Cost any such note

To the 3rd X Inty he saith that he has no recollection of ever requesting John Cost to pay any liability of this as guardian or of placing any means in his hands for that purpose or if said Cost making any payments for
