Rt Revd & Dear Sir,

It was with great pleasure
that I received your card with an invita-
tion to attend the laying of the corner
stone of the Southern University, and,
though unable to do myself the pleas-
ure of attending, from pecuniary con-
siderations, my heart is with you in so
beneficial and glorious an undertaking.
May the Lord bless it in every stage of
its progress, and make it the means
of diffusing sound religious knowledge
throughout our whole contry.
