Right Reverend Bishop Otey dear Lin,

On my arrival here on Saturday, I found [yours?] with of invitation to witness the ceremony of laying the corner stone of the principle breeding of the University of the South, I would [be?] much notified to be pres-ent on the occasion, but my circumstances will require my presence in the lower part of the State in the corner of a short period, I am unfilled of fresher the pleasure.
