Rt Rev. & dear Sir,

I thank you much heartily
for your kind & cordial invitation
to attend the laying of the Corner Stone
of one of the buildings about to be
erected for "the University of the South"
If it were in my power, I should
most certainly avail myself of
this opportunity of meeting the

who will assemble on an occa-
sion of so much interest.

Every year deepens my conviction
that the great interest of the Church
& of the State are closely identified
with the Educational institutions
that are rising throughout our
