Yours of the 5th Inst.
reached me this morning.

It is a source of much
regret to me, that I could not so
have arranged my fall & winter
work, as to attend the meeting
of the Board, on the 9th {illegible} -- espe-
cially as it will be an occasion
of so much interest & inspiration.

The meeting is unfortunately
timed for our Lawyers -- as the
courts will be in session one
of our Lay {illegible: Ministers?}, can't go,
& the other, I fear, will also
be absent.

May your deliberations
be wisely directed.
