Sir/

I have the honor to enclose two Requisitions Signed by Cap'n. Logan for Supplies required to be sent to the Detachment of the 57th Reg't at Morton [Moreton] Bay - in order that you will be pleased to obtain His Excellency the Governors [sic] permission for the Shipment of the Same on board the first Vessel proceeding to that Station - I have also thought proper to enclose a letter addressed to me by Mr. Bate explanatory of the Alterations that have been made in the quantities intended for Lieut. Bainbrigge [sic] private use, which Alterations I beg you will be kind enough to get Sanctioned if possible ---

In returning to you duly approved the orders for the Shipment of Certain Articles to Moreton Bay, which were [crossed out] (enclosed) [added above] (contained) in the letter of the 22d instant, I am directed by Mr Wemyss to enclose at the same time the supplies for Mr Bates, and to inform you for the purpose of being carried to that gentleman, that it will be necessary to obtain the recommend'n of the Comm'g Officer of the Reg't for any additional Articles that he may wish to send to Mr. Bainbrigge ---
