Sir
I have the honor to transmit
to ^ [added above] (you) a petition to Lord Grey on the
subject of the neglect of the Officers
of the Colonial Government to
attend to complaint of the conduct
as a magistrate of Mr Patrick
Leslie made by me in a letter to
the Attorney General dated the 5th day
of August 1850

I beg through you
respectfully to request his Excellency
the Governor General to forward the
enclosed petition at his earliest con-
venience to Lord Grey ... further
that he will as soon as possible
cause my name to be removed
from this commission of the [Peace]
