I have the honor to to inform you that the mounted men of the Gold Gaurd [sic] decline to receive from me the forage for the Supply of their horses on the Grounds that the contract does not extend to them as it has nothing to do with the Colonial Service as in the notice calling for tenders there was nothing said to lead me to Suppose the horses attached to the Gold Gaurd [sic] in this district Were not to be Supplied by me and as I Purchased the Supplies on the belief that I should be Permitted to Supply them I request either the
