To the Presidend Board of Aldermen
and the President House Delegates

We your committee appointed to investigate
the matter of the dismissal of the suit of
the City vs. The Columbia and Puget Sound Rail R. Co
beg leave to submit the following as our report:

After careful consideration of all facts that
we have had before us regarding the
dismissal of the suit of the "City vs.
the Columbia and Puget Sound Rail Road Co"
we find that this suit has been rein-
stated by our corporation counsel and
is before the court ready for trial, and
is now on the same basis as it was before
it was dismissed.

Taking these facts into consideration, we
do not think it would be desirable for
this committee to further investigate the
matters which have been placed before
them, as this question of legal rights
claimed by the Rail Road Co. will soon
be decided in the Courts.

We do wish to say that as to any question
of corruption which have been intimated
against the corporation counsel of this
City, we are satisfied that he acted in good
faith, and done what he considered for
the best interest of the City.
