No. 148 An Ordinance amending Ordinance
No. 910 as amended by Ordinance No. 1003 and
by Ordinance No. 2650, which has received
the most careful consideration, would be
in effect, if it were passed and became op-
erative by the approval of the various depart-
ments that are to consider it, to establish
the license at $500.00 per year for selling
liquor until such time as it might be
changed by future legislation. Your com-
mittee believes it would be unwise to
pass this Ordinance.

As to the lowering of the present license
this Committee believes that to lower
the fee to the sum proposed would be to
deprive the City of a large part of the
revenue it now receives from this source
and which it can not afford to lose at this
time. We do not believe that the reduction
of the license would result in the issuance
of any new licenses taken out by reason
