COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE.
petition is granted and the ordinance committee instructed
to submit an ordinance providing for the construction as [such?]
sidewalk.

And now the Ordinance Committee submit ordinance
No. 277, the same being entitled as follows, to wit:
"An ordinance to provide for the lighting of the streets
"and furnishing the City of Seattle with gas, within
"fixed limits." After due consideration said ordinance
is adopted by the following vote, to wit: In favor of
adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan
and Charles McDonald. Against adoption, none.
And now the ordinance committee submit ordi-
nance No. 278, the same being entitled as follows,
to wit: "An ordinance granting unto Charles Coppin, his
heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, the right to
lay water pipes in all streets and alleys and parts of
streets and alleys in the City of Seattle."
After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by
the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy,
John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and [Charles McDonald]];
against adoption, none.
Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned
until May 18th, 1882

Be it remembered that on this the 17th day of May,
1882, the Common Council meets in it's council chamber as a
Board of Equalization pursuant to adjournment of May 16th, 1882.
Present His Honor, the Mayor L. P. Smith and Councilmen
Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan and
Charles McDonald. Thereupon the Board proceeds to the
equalization of the Assessment for 1882, pending which our
adjournment is had until May 18th, 1882.
