32 Candle power lights for public buildings $3.00 each per month for
each light used.
Seattle Gas Light Co
Gas lights for Street Lighting $4.50 each per month
including lighting extinguishing & Cleaning street lamps,
Gas for lighting public buldings $2.00 for thousand feet
The bids were referred to the Committee on Street
Lights and the said Committee having examined the
same report in favor of awarding the contract for
the lighting of the streets to the Seattle Electric Light
Company
for one year from Oct 1st 1888, and the contract for lighting the City Buildings and offices for one year from Oct 1st 1888 to the Seattle Gas Light Company and on motion
the report is adopted and the contract awarded in
accordance with the recommendations of the Committee.
Lamp Posts
The bid of the Seattle Electric Light Company for
supplying the City with Iron Lamp Posts for the ensuing
year being the only one presented was, on motion accepted
and the contract for supplying the City with Iron
Lamp Posts for one year from october 1st 1888
was awarded to the Seattle Electric Light Co at the follow-
ing costs, viz: Iron Lamp Posts adapted to either
gas or electric light $7.50 each. Hood Lamps and
goose necks to attach to each post $10.00 each. Lamps,
hoods, and goosenecks to attach to wooden posts
$9.50 each.
Compliant having been made to the Council fo the
Auctioneers Stand at the S E Corner of Commercial and
Washington Streets and it being evident that said
complaints are well founded. On motion of Council
man McDonald the Chief of Police is ordered to
keep said sidewalk cleared and unobstructed at
all times and not permit crowds fo people to loiter
there.
