Be it remembered that on this Sixth day of January A.D. 1890
the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets pursuant to
adjournment in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the
City of Seattle:
The following officers of the City government are present:
Councilmen - [[D.E. Durie]] [[G.W. Hall]] [[T.E. Jones]] [[U.R. Niesz]] H.F.
Phillips [[F.A. Twichell]] [[J.N. Wallingford]] [[Harry White]]:
[[City Attorney]] - S.H. Piles
[[City Clerk]] - [[C.W. Ferris]]
[[Chief of Police]] - J.C. [[Mitchell]]
The following proceedings are held:
The mayor]being absent, on motion of Councilman [[Hall]] - Councilman
[[U.R. Niesz]] is elected as acting mayor.
Petition of [[Oscar Johnson]] for permission to tranfer liquor license.
Read and referred to License and [Review?] Committee.
Petition of T. [Howell?] for an extension of liquor license equal to time
his saloon was closed after the fire of June 6th 1889.
Read and rejected.
From Fire and Water Committee on communication of J.H. Rengstorf
asking Council to investigate action of Building Inspector Abbott
in stopping work on his building recommending that the action
of the Building Inspector be sustained and that Mr Rengstorf make
the chance in wall of his building to conform to instructions
of the Building Inspector:

Bids for Fire Boat
There being but one bid, that of the Seattle Dry Dock and S.B. Co.
it is ordered that same be not opened and considered:
Upon motion of Counciman Jones it is ordered that bids be readmotioned
for to be opened February 7th 1890 for the construction of the
Fire Boat, and that the Clerk be directed to cause advertisements
