the neighborhood will always be
remembered for their fine work inconnection

ance Union.

Likewise the women of the com-
munity were not "slaves" in the
amount of [ped pross] work which
they completed during the years of
the World War. Sandy SpringFriends
have taken a noteworthy part in
Friends' Reconstruction Work.

Now that we know something
of the history of Sandy Spring let us
consider some of the achievements
of one of the daughters and several of
the sons of the neightborhood.

Mrs. Mary Bentley Thomas
compiled a calendar consisting of
quotations from the works of Dickens
which has been greatly praised by mem-
bers of the Dickens family.
