Cloudy part of the day: rained in the evening: father
took mother to Uncle Samuels in the afternoon. left her
there while he took Louisa Pleasents to Sharon.

3d 1st day
Cloudy morning most of the day, a gust in the evening,
the oak tree in our meadow sttuck by lightening:
very hot. whenever the sun came out during the day
Charlie Stabler and Granville called before meeting, no one
else here all day: father went to Isaace Hartshornes
in the afternoon. William at Uncle Samuels to supper.

4th 2d day
Cleared off early in the morning, clouded over again
before noon: several showers, bright evening: I spent
the other day at Sharon, home to supper: Lucy at Harewood
after supper, Kate came home today.

5th 3d day
Foggy morning, cloudy most of the day: father went
to Baltimore on his way to Petersburg, went to Laurel
and then to Elliotts mills, will stay tonight at brothers.

6th 4th day
Fair day, very warm: Joe helping Arthur to raise his
tobacco house: William went to Washington: Lucy went
