Went last night and again about
sun rise this morning to Remus Johnson's.
left a boy baby there for his
son's wife - Took Dora & went to Saml.
Johnson's & home. Went to Hollin's corner
to see old man Grimes. Took Dora and
went to "Homewood". Horace Sedgwick
here for advice. Took clothes to Sarah
Dent to have them washed & ironed.

Friday, 28
Went to Remus Johnson's & to office.
to Fulford & S. S. Afternoon Mr Wm
H. Farguhar's barn was burned;
from a mans pipe: a fine horse together
with much grain & provender cows [and]
I walked up, taking Willie to see the
ruins. Rode back to our house with Ernest
who called there for medicine &
advice.

Saturday, March 1st
Went to Fairall shop & left books to be
footed & to the office. Went to "Rifle
shooting match" at Scott's. made
score 31 in possible 50 with short Winchester
magazine rifle 200 yards

Sarah Dent here early & had teeth extracted.
Mrs Knight here with son Geo:
to have pistol shot wound in hand dressed.
Son Charley sick with "earache"
from terrible cold. Harriet & Dora &
Baby lodged in room at head of the
stairs. Charley, Willie & I in our
room - awake nearly all night.
watching Charley.

Monday, 3
Snow from 8 to 10 inches deep and
still falling until near noon I was
up at 2. am. got Israel up & arranged
to get Charley up to start the mail in
time. he being quite sick. sent him
on horse back Israel going with him.
Went to Scott's, Wm Lezear's Feed' k
Stabler's. Old man Grimes etc in the
sleigh: sleighing better than at any time
before this winter.

Tuesday, 4
Went in sleigh to S. S. & then took Charley
a little ride to Ashton Office etc.
Mrs. King brought her son & had wounded
hand dressed.
