Ther 68 degrees Cloudy Wind S.E.
Tuesday, June 17th, 1890
Still cloudy. I was up & down
with Charley nearly all night: he
had a severe chill after I put
him to bed about dusk followed
by considerable fever, headache
& restlessness, suffering
much pain in his throat and
sub maxillary glands. His
breath so heavy & offensive I
almost feard diptheredic
trouble. He rested somewhat
better after 2.oclk & inclines
to sleep this morning & I hope
is better in every way. Henry
Fitzhugh Jr: called to report
little William Moore somewhat
better.

Ther: 70 Cloudy & Clearing Wind Variable
Wednesday, June 18th, 1890
I drove down to see William
Thomas wife, Edward going with
me. Charley is much better &
came down stairs. "Uncle Henson"
was at work all day trimming
the hedge. Mr Saul Waters was
here. Louis Scofield called to
see Charley. I went down to see
Elenora Bell's child both morning
and evening. I finished
fixing the "hind legs" to my
old canvass back chair, which
makes it more comfortable and
takes up less room than before.
After dark I walked up to the
store & mailed a letter to Willie
from his mother and tried to
engage hand to help "Uncle Henson"
plant potatoes tomorrow.
